LIDAR
Airborne LiDAR is active remote sensing technology to capture data about the Earth surface and above ground objects. With triggering huge amounth of laser pulses (between 5.000 and 200.000 per second) that determine the range to the objects on the ground it's possible to recover georeferenced pointcloud with some additional information about reflection intensity and number of reflections from each single pulse. Wawelenght of LASER is nearinfrared ( 800nm - 1100nm). This wawelenght is reflected most from vegetation and causes the smallest danger to the human eyesight.
LIDAR Why?
• less money more information
• almost complete independence from the weather (night - day, winter - summer).
• penetration through the vegetation.
• capture huge amounts of data.
• extremely short period of time covered.
• relative / absolute high accuracy.
• parallel structure aerofotogrametrije.
• more parallel products (DTM, DEM, DOF, LAND SURVEY PLAN, ANIMATION ....).
• required fewer operators.
• rapid and increasing technological advances - the increasing simplification (always more operations automation, still less manual intervention).

LIDAR OPTECH ALTM GEMINI
• Optech was the first producer of aero LIDAR and continues to produce inovative and reliable equipment
• A large range of frequencies: 33 - 167kHz - for both high speed and up to 62% more data coverage of the area
• Height of up to 4000m above terrain- more affordable for the client
• "wide beam" function - suitable for lines: at lower densities more hits of power lines - more affordable for the customer
• "narrow beam" function - better penetration through the vegetation
• Complete automation of procedures
• Software: Optech: ALTM NAV Planner, DASHMAP
